(Guthrie Co.) No injuries were reported after a pickup rear ended a West Central Valley School bus on Friday.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says 52-year-old Christine Damstrom, of Dexter, was driving the full size school bus with approximately 15 children on board northbound in the 3300th block of Wagon Road immediately outside the northern city limits of Stuart. Ryan Gross, 24, of Linden, was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger immediately behind the school bus. The school bus made a legal discharge of students at a driveway. The bus left its red stop lights on and stop sign arm out and proceeded a short distance further north on Wagon Road to make another discharge of students. Ryan Gross observed the first discharge of students and continued northbound following the bus. Gross failed to observe the bus coming to its second stop and rear ended the bus as it was stopping.
Gross was cited for Following Too Close.
