(Atlantic) The Atlantic Walmart store was evacuated late Wednesday afternoon after receiving a bomb threat.
Atlantic Police Chief Dave Erickson tells KSOM/KS95 News, a Walmart employee received a phone call at 4:53 p.m. on Wednesday. The caller said an explosive device in the electronics area was set to go off in 16 minutes. Walmart employees and customers immediately evacuated the building.
Chief Erickson says law enforcement searched the entire building and gave the all-clear about an hour after the call, and employees and shoppers were allowed back into the building.
Erickson says the incident remains under investigation.
In a separate incident, the Police arrested an intoxicated and belligerent individual at Walmart. Chief Erickson says the arrest is not related to this incident.
