(Red Oak) Red Oak Firefighters responded to a machine shed fire early this (Tuesday) morning.
Fire Chief John Bruce said the call went out at 6:02 a.m. of a structure fire at 1508 220th Street. The first arriving emergency services personnel found a 40×60 Morton Building fully engulfed in flames. The building also contained pieces of farm machinery and other miscellaneous vehicles and equipment.
Fire crews arrived at the scene at around 6:10 a.m. and finished ground operations at around 7:45 a.m. There were no injuries, and the fire remains under investigation.
The total amount of loss is undetermined at the time of this press release.
The Stanton and Essex fire departments, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and Rural Electric Company assisted the Red Oak Fire Department.
