(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved establishing a speed limit on Memphis Road from 620th to Highway 71 at their meeting this morning.
Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken said they will be establishing a 40 mph speed limit.
In other action, the Board approved a contract with the Iowa DOT for County Bridge Federal Aid SWAP Funding for a bridge project on Indian Creek north of Highway 6.
The Board also approved a contract for a Cass County and Guthrie County joint bridge bundle project.
Murphy Heavy Contracting had the low bid for $1,433,502.30 for both bridges; Cass County’s share is $647,329.
Trent Wolken told the Supervisors this morning that he still has a couple of requests into the Iowa DOT to gather information on a request to close the roadway at 570th Street at the I-80 underpass. Wolken said the DOT has not got back to him yet. The Supervisors will not make a decision on closing that roadway until they have more details.
The Supervisors also wanted the public to know that if you are having trouble getting through to the Landfill on their landline phone number, you can call 712-249-8966.
