(Atlantic) The Glenwood girl’s topped the 18-team field at the Atlantic Cross Country Invitational on Thursday with 64-points. Harlan finished second with 101, and ADM was third with 123. Winterset and Atlantic were close behind with 126 and 134 points, respectively.
Emma Hughes led the Rams with a 7th place finish, Erin Schultz and Riley Wiese finished 10th and 11th, Lauren Hughes 15th, and Rachel Mullennax rounded out the scoring in 20th.
Kia Bieker led Harlan with a 7th place finish, Brecken Van Baale, 10th, and Liv Fruend crossed the finish line in 17th. Abi Albertson and Ellie Gross rounded out the team scoring in 34th and 35th place, respectively.
Individually Geneva Timmerman of ADM ran away from the field in a time of 19:30.80. Peyton Poggee of Tri-Center was second in 20:18.20. Braelyn Baker of Creston finished third in 20:28.90, Sophia Karras, Sergeant-Bluff-Luton, fourth, 20:35.50, Georgia Paulson, Underwood, fifth, 20:37.40, Taylor McCreedy, Atlantic, sixth, 20:39.20, Bieker, Harlan, seventh, 20:48.60, Hughes, Glenwood, eighth, 20:53.00, Mayson Hartley, Clarinda, ninth, 20:55.20, and VanBaale, Harlan, tenth, 21:02.50.
Taylor McCreedy led Atlantic in sixth place, Ava Rush, 18th, Claire Pellett, 23th, Maddie Botos, 39th, and Adie DeArment finished in 48th place to round out the team score.
