(Denison) The Harlan girls and boys were each team champs at Tuesday’s Denison-Schleswig Cross Country Invitational. The girls posted a winning total of 29 points. The boys scored 58 for the win.
The Harlan girls had Kaia Bieker run 3rd, Liv Freund 4th, Brecken VanBaale 5th, Abi Albertsen 6th, Ellie Gross 11th, Kennedy Kjergaard 12th, and Olivia Anderson 17th.
Peyton Pogge, of Tri-Center, was the individual girls champ in a time of 20:22. Courtney Sporrer, of Logan-Magnolia, was 2nd in 20:40.
Trey Gross led the Harlan boys with an individual title in 16:52. Runner-up Michael Pottebaum (Kuemper Catholic) and 3rd place finisher Quentin Dreyer (IKM-Manning) were the only two runners that finished within one minute of Gross.
Other Harlan scoring runners were: Mitchell Rueschenberg 6th, Ian Shelton 13th, Reed Boardman 20th, and Kaiden Milliken 21st.
