(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley posted a 3-1 record at the Clarinda Volleyball Tournament on Saturday. The Wolverine’s only loss was to eventual champion Tri-Center.
A big highlight of the weekend was senior libero Natalie Yonker setting the school’s career digs record. The previous mark of 987 was held by 2012 graduate Sara Kerber Thompson. Yonker now has 1,014 digs in her career.
Nodaway Valley beat Tri-Center (21-15, 22-20), West Central Valley (21-13, 21-7), and Shenandoah (21-17, 21-10). They lost their second matchup with Tri-Center by scores of 22-24 and 20-22.
The team’s record for the year stands at 8-3. They were scheduled to play Mount Ayr on Tuesday, but that match has been postponed. On Thursday they’ll head to Perry to see South Hamilton and Perry.
