(Harrison Co.) A construction worker from Des Moines was struck and killed by a tire in Harrison County Wednesday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says 51-year-old Homero Carrillo was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to the report, 56-year-old Christopher Kubas, of Edwardsville, Kansas, was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado northbound on Interstate 29 at approximately 2:18 p.m. when the vehicle lost a tire. The tire went northbound through the median and struck Carillo, who was working on the southbound bridge in the east lane.
