(Clarinda) The Page County Sheriff’s Office was notified early Tuesday morning by a passerby of a vehicle located in two to three feet of standing water.
At 2:38 a.m. the Sheriff’s office was contacted about a 2009 Chevy Impala north of the A Avenue Intersection off of Highway 48. Upon investigation it was determined 22-year-old Jacob James Bond, of Essex, was southbound at the time of the accident. Bond drove to the right of the fog line outside the rumble strips, over corrected, crossed the center line, and exited the roadway into the east ditch. The vehicle rolled at last once and came to rest on its roof. Bond had exited the vehicle prior to the accident being reported. He was found by emergency personnel and transported to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital by Shenandoah Ambulance Service.
Bond is cited for Failure to Maintain Control with more charges possible as the accident was still being investigated at the time of this release.
