(Creston) Two people were transported to the hospital following an accident involving four vehicles in Union County on Monday.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says 57-year-old Sharon Cline, of Kent, was driving a 2012 Ford Edge westbound on Highway 34, slowing to stop to wait for oncoming traffic before turning south on Beechwood Avenue. Cline’s vehicle was struck by a westbound 2007 Dodge pickup, driven by 42-year-old Rebecca Browning of Prescott, who failed to get stopped. The impact pushed Cline’s vehicle into the eastbound lane where it was struck by an eastbound 2019 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 64-year-old Phyllis Paulsen of Emerson. The impact knocked Paulsen’s vehicle sideways in the center of the Highway where it was struck broadside by a 2002 Pontiac, driven by 19-year-old Colten Hunter of Clarinda.
Sharon Cline and Phyllis Paulsen were both transported to the Greater Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
Browning was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.
