(Atlantic) Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced on Thursday, starting July 1, school districts and accredited non-public schools may begin offering all school activities.
Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber says starting on July 1, students can use the school’s weight rooms, along with band and choir instruction and practices, and an ACT Testing can now be scheduled.
Barber says it appears now Prom on July 11,, and the commencement ceremony scheduled for July 19, are a go, with social distancing guidelines in place.
Barber says the recent development implies that school districts may have an opportunity to return to the classroom in August.
Some of the guidelines pertaining to students re-entering the school building on July 1, don’t require a mask or a health screening of students and staff entering the school building.
