(Atlantic) The Atlantic Police Department added a new cruiser to the Fleet.
The new cruiser is a Chevy Tahoe purchased at Deter’s, and according to Police Chief Dave Erickson the cruiser is a new style for Atlantic, and the make and model will save the taxpayers money down the road.
“The new look is good for Atlantic, and it’s going to be a savings in the long run,” explained Erickson. “The savings would come when we start rolling the vehicles back out for trade in, it going to save around $170,000 over a ten-year period for the Tahoe because the Tahoe’s have a higher trade-in value.”
Chief Erickson says the new cruiser has more room, more comfortable for the officers, and additional hook-ups for equipment.
The Atlantic Police Department consists of 12 full-time officer, and eight reserve police officers, and five police cruisers.
