(Atlantic) A fire leveled a home north of Atlantic late Sunday afternoon.
Atlantic Fire Chief Tom Cappel says the call went out at 5:40 p.m. of a house fire at 60091 Boston Road. The initial report stated smoke and flames were coming from the home. Cappel said when they arrived, they found the structure fully engulfed in flames. He says at that point; firefighters turned to a defensive stance. Cappel says no one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
Chief Cappel says the cause of the blaze is undetermined, and the State Fire Marshall will be assisting with the investigation.
The Marne Fire Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Atlantic Fire Department at the scene.
