(Corning) A resolution has been passed to allow SW Valley employees to receive pay for up to four weeks during the temporary closure. The move was approved by both the Corning and Villisca School Boards on Thursday morning.
The resolution reads as follows…in the event of a temporary closure of the District, the Superintendent is hereby authorized to pay contracted, salaried, or hourly employees their customary and regular pay, for up to four weeks during the temporary closure. Superintendent Chris Fenster is pleased with the way his COVID-19 Response Team and the rest of the District are handling the situation.
“Everything is going really smooth so far, we appreciate everyone staying home and practicing social distancing.”
Fenster says they are trying to get through this pandemic as best they can. Updates are being posted frequently on the school’s social media pages. Fenster says about 155 kids are taking part in the lunch program which delivers meals to students. It began on Tuesday and Fenster thanks Primrose Restaurant for their help with that endeavor.
