(Sidney) Authorities located a missing northeast Iowa man in Fremont County.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an 87-year old man reported missing out of Evansdale, in Black Hawk County. Authorities tracked his phone to a rural area northeast of Sidney, Iowa, approximately 300 miles from his home.
Deputies along with an aerial drone, the Fremont County K9 Unit, and LifeNet Medical Helicopter called to attempt to locate the male in the area.
Deputies located the male’s abandoned vehicle, near the intersection of Foote Street and Maple Street in Sidney at approximately 3:56 a.m. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence.
Deputies located the man approximately one block from the crash scene. Sidney Rescue transported the male to the Grape Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
