(Avoca) The COVID-19 pandemic is causing the closing of a laundry list of events across the nation. Officials are canceling sporting events at an unprecedented number. Colleges, Universities, and some school districts are locking their doors to avoid the spread of the virus.
AHSTW Schools Superintendent Darin Jones says his goal is to share information with the AHSTW community. Jones admits there’s a lot of information out there and deciphering what is right and what is not can be difficult at times. His goal is to focus on a couple of things.
Jones says the district is currently reviewing its cleaning procedures.
Jones advises students and staff not feeling well to stay home and contact their health provider, and be respectful to others when coughing and sneezing by covering their nose and mouth with an arm or elbow.
Mr. Jones says the district is planning for any potential scheduling changes. He recently sent out a survey to parents to receive their input on possible changes.
