(Audubon) Heath Hansen, Republican from Audubon, officially filed papers with Secretary of State Paul Pate as a candidate on June 2nd Republican Primary ballot for State Senate. Hansen is running for Senate District 6, currently held by Mark Segebart of Vail, who announced he is not seeking another term.
Heath announced his candidacy on March 15, 2019, and officially filed for candidacy on February 28, 2020.
Heath says he’s a proud husband, father, pastor, and 6th generation Iowan. He is the Senior Pastor of the Audubon Church of Christ. He says, like many parents, he has a second job, which is counseling troubled young men at the Manning House in Manning. When not working, Heath serves his community as Vice President of the Audubon Community Schools Board of Education.
Heath Hansen is running on a platform of “Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-Iowa” to bring rural Iowa values to Des Moines through hard work, dedication, and a listening ear.
