(Glenwood) A Council Bluffs man was arrested following a pursuit in Mills County.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2006 Ford F250 near 195th Street/Allis Road at approximately 6:17 p.m. Friday. The vehicle failed to stop and attempted to elude law enforcement. After a brief chase that reached speeds over 100 mph, law enforcement was able to set up stop sticks in the roadway. The vehicle attempted to make a U-turn to avoid hitting the stop sticks and crashed into the road ditch.
The driver, 42-year-old Sean Michael Gochenour, was taken into custody after a brief interaction with law enforcement. The 2006 Ford F250 was confirmed to be stolen out of Omaha, Nebraska.
Gochenour was transported to the Mills County Jail where he was held on $23,000 bond with charges including Felony Eluding, Theft 1st Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Burglary Tools, Interference with Official Acts and multiple traffic citations.
The Glenwood Police Department and Iowa State Patrol assisted with the incident.
