(Atlantic) Brody O’Brien, of Atlantic, will play baseball at Briar Cliff. The Trojan senior signed his letter of intent Wednesday morning in a ceremony at Atlantic High School.
O’Brien hit .343 in his junior season with 17 runs driven in. He also pitched 42 1/3 innings with a 3.31 ERA. He says “When I visited there I really liked the community feel there. They all care about you and want you to have success on and off the field. When I met coach (Corby) McGlauflin he seemed like a great coach and I’m excited to spend the next four years with him.”
Head coach Corby McGlauflin and assistant coach Andy Osborne were both on hand for the signing. McGlauflin says of O’Brien, “Obviously he comes from a good 3A program and has had some success. His ability to swing from the left side really intrigued us. He hit for a high average last year for Atlantic and we’re excited for his versatility he’ll bring to us.”
