(Lawrence, KS) Former Griswold Tiger Rebekah Topham broke a facility record in the 1,000 meters as Wichita State competed at the Jayhawk Classic Thursday and Friday.
Topham, a redshirt senior, won the race in 2:49.87 to set a new standard at the Anschutz Pavilion. Topham’s previous best in the event was 2:54.96. She holds a top ten time in Wichita State’s record books in nine different events. This includes individual races and relays. Her marquee race is the 3000 Meter Steeplechase where she set a school record last spring and became an NCAA All-American.
The Shockers will host the Wichita State Invitational January 30th and 31st.
