(Guthrie Center) ACGC’s Quynton Younker will join a traditional power in the NAIA football ranks. The All-State lineman has decided on Grand View as the next stop in his football journey.
Younker spoke Monday with KSOM/KS95.7 Sports about his school of choice. “I took a visit their last Saturday and felt like it was a good fit for me and it’s close to home” He adds it’s good to have his mind made up. “It was a very stressful process having to make a huge decision to make for the next four years of my life and I picked what was best for me.” Younker picked Grand View over interest from Dordt and Upper Iowa.
Listed at 6’3″ and 270 pounds, Younker was major force behind ACGC’s impressive rise in football. The Chargers had never had a winning season before 2019, but broke through with six wins this past fall. He registered 39.5 tackles including 15.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks. “The coaches brought me in and told me they want me to play on the defensive side of the ball and that’s always what I wanted to do. I just felt like it was the place for me to go.”
