(Des Moines) Winter has returned to the state of Iowa this week.
Kenny Podrazik with the National Weather Service in Des Moines tells KSOM/KS95 News all eyes are on Friday. He says moderate to heavy snow is expected to impact southwest Iowa on Friday and Friday night causing travel difficulties. In addition to that, the snow will be accompanied by winds of 15-to-20 miles per hour causing the snow to blow and drift.
Podrazik says snowfall amounts of 4-6 inches and possibly higher amounts are forecast for the region. He says a mixture of precipitation in southwest Iowa may precede the snow on Friday, which could have an impact on the snow totals.
