(Des Moines) The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Audubon, Cass, Guthrie, Adair, Adams, Union, and Taylor counties.
Forecasters say a mix of snow and freezing drizzle is expected to move through over the next couple of hours. Visibilities will be reduced to between 1 and 2 miles at times in the wintry precipitation. Little ice accumulations are expected. The snow and freezing drizzle is expected to taper off through the late evening hours.
Motorists can expect slick roads due to snow and ice as well as icy spots on sidewalks and parking lots.
