(Lewis) A Cass County man faces alcohol-related charges following a single-vehicle accident near Lewis.
The accident happened at around 4:13 p.m. on Wednesday at the AT &T curve on Highway 6 east of Lewis. A car driven by 67-year old Joseph Francis Emert, of Atlantic, failed to negotiate the curve. The car entered the south ditch and came to rest on its’ wheels near a building site. Emert was not hurt in the accident.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says Emert was charged with OWI 1st offense. He was held on a $1,000 bond and awaiting an appearance in front of a magistrate.
