(Madison Co.) Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident in Madison County early this morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident occurred at 2:21 a.m. on Cumming Road, just northeast of Quail Ridge Avenue. James Tomas Lyles III, 27, of Des Moines and Preston Tremain Lee Prather, 31, of Des Moines were both transported to Mercy Main by Mercy Helicopter. Both are in critical condition.
According to the report, Taaliyah Ivana Zimic, 28, of Urbandale, was driving a 2012 Nissan Altima westbound on Cumming Road when the vehicle left the roadway to the right on a curve that traverses to the left. The Nissan entered the north ditch, went sideways, vaulted over Quail Ridge Road and came to rest on its top in the northwest ditch.
Taaliyah Zimic refused medical treatment and was transported to the Madison County Jail for Operating While Intoxicated.
