(Southwest Valley) Southwest Valley Schools Superintendent Chris Fenster says the district’s return-to-learn plan is in place when classes begin on Monday. He says the Early Childhood Center is open and making its way back, and the other facilities are clean and ready to go.
“We have hand sanitizers in place, disinfectant, students will be spread out in different rooms, the district will utilize the two gyms as a cafeteria, and the other for classrooms and a cafeteria if needed, said Fenster, and the P.E. classes have been moved to the Activities Center.”
Fenster says face coverings are optional but highly recommended for students and staff, especially when social distancing is compromised. “We want them to reserve the right to determine whether or not they want to wear them,” said Fenster. “However, face coverings are required to be worn on the school bus.”
Meanwhile, Southwest Valley has 27 students taking the remote learning option, which is about 4-percent of the student enrollment.
