(Adair) A Minnesota man faces multiple charges following a pursuit and standoff in Adair County.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says a citizen reported at around 4:39 a.m., an impaired or tired driver. A Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped the vehicle on Interstate 80 at the Adair/Cass County line. The Deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the car.
The driver, 26-year old Eric B. Fallah, refused to exit the vehicle and took off eastbound on Interstate 80. Fallah pulled over following a brief pursuit and still refused to leave the car. Fallah took off again and led law enforcement on another quest. Due to excessive speed, Fallah wrecked the vehicle at the curve on the 75 exit ramp in Adair County.
Fallah again wouldn’t follow orders, and a standoff ensued. He began tossing numerous packages and containers of narcotics from the vehicle. Officer’s deployed the Shelby County K-9 unit at the scene, and law enforcement soon apprehended Fallah and took him into custody.
The Adair Fire and Rescue transported Fallah to the Cass County Memorial Hospital to treat injuries and was later transported to an Omaha hospital.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says Fallah faces numerous charges, including; delivery of a controlled substance, drug tax stamp violation, prohibited acts, and eluding.
