(Troy Mills) According to multiple reports, North Linn co-head coach Bob Hilmer is retiring.
Hilmer is Iowa’s all-time wins leader for boys basketball with a record of 917-347 in over fifty seasons of coaching. His stops included Fredericksburg, Forest City, WACO, and North Linn. He coached a dozen teams to state including four straight appearances with North Linn. The Lynx have been in the finals for three consecutive years and won the championship in 2019. He also won a state title with Forest City in 1976.
Hilmer was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2008.
