(Orient) One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Adair County Friday.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident occurred on Highway 25 at approximately 5:06 p.m. 40-year-old Elijah Daniel Davis was driving a 2000 Ford Astro van eastbound on Highway 25. 39-year-old Jeremy Lane Trichel, of Menlo, was driving a 1946 Ford F100 westbound on Highway 25. Davis’ vehicle crossed the center line and struck Trichel’s vehicle head-on. Both vehicles came to rest in the north ditch.
Elijah Davis received serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by Orient EMS. Trichel was ejected out of his vehicle and died from his injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
