2019 Spring Sports
Golf
The Lady Dawgs made it past the first round of regionals, but only two teams from each regional final site advance to state and they placed 5th at Moville. The team placed 5th at the Western Iowa Conference Tournament. Meghan Reed collected quite a bit of hardware throughout the season and had the lowest 9-hole average on the team at 49.25. The team regularly counted on the scores of Bailey Wiese and Jill Blakely. Bailey Faxon and McKenna Sick also played at the varsity level.
Track
Kelly Clevenger, Izzy Bluml, Emily Brown, and Gracie Bluml made for a dynamic group of sprinters. The quartet made state in both the 4X100 and 4X200 with Clevenger qualifying individually in the 200 meter dash. Beyond the strength in the sprints, Alexis Post had a solid season in the distance races with season bests of 5:38.75 in the 1500 and 11:57 in the 3000.
Soccer
Riverside scored four goals in their first match of the season, but only one goal the rest of the way in a winless campaign. Goalkeeper Rhyann Sanny was their only senior and he finished with 286 saves, 2nd most in Class 1A. Logan-Magnolia and Missouri Valley were their two closes games, with each of those losses being decided by a single goal. Chiara Rains scored three goals and Maggie Boruff had two.
2019 Summer Sports
Softball
With most of the pieces back from a regional semifinal run in 2018, the Lady Dawgs posted an 18-10 record. Their .321 team batting average was #1 in the Western Iowa Conference. Gracie Bluml and Kenna Ford each earned first team all-conference recognition as well as all-district and all-state honors. Bluml has committed to play at Iowa Central and centerfielder Ashlynn Amdor plans to play at Iowa Western. On paper they have everyone back for 2020.

2019 Fall Sports
Cross Country
Maggie Boruff led the team at most of their meets and placed 24th at the State Qualifying Meet at the end of the year. Boruff was 16th in the conference meet. Stormy Noble placed 26th at the SQM in Mount Ayr. Katie Messerschmidt rounded out the lineup.
Volleyball
Riverside established multiple records during their 26-13 season. They even rose into the IGHSAU rankings at one point. The Lady Dawgs advanced all the way to the regional finals where they were ousted by St. Albert. Gracie Bluml broke the career digs record for Riverside and Kenna Ford establish a new high mark for assists. Ford still has her senior season remaining. Jadyn Achenbach, who led the team in kills and aces, is an Iowa Central commit.

2019-20 Winter Sports
Basketball
Injuries and other factors led to far fewer returning players from the previous year. They managed a 4-19 record which included a postseason victory over Heartland Christian. Three of their wins came in the final two weeks of the season. Ashlynn Amdor and Meghan Reed represented the bulk of the experience and the duo combined for over 20 points per game. Amdor had a season high of 27 points at Audubon and Reed had a season high 25 against Heartland Christian.

Wrestling
Girls wrestling is not an Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, but has been gaining popularity. Iliana Yanes finished as a runner-up at the state tournament.
