2019 Spring Sports
Golf
Jocelyn Cheek, Haley Manz, and Kayla Powers were the leaders for the Cyclones as all three averaged in the low 50’s per nine holes. Ashley Hall and Brecken Van Baale were regular varsity contributors while Jennifer Springman and Cierra Hoegh each saw occasional varsity action. The team placed 7th in the Hawkeye Ten Conference.
Tennis
Harlan didn’t pick up any dual wins. Their closest contest was a 6-3 loss to Atlantic which saw victories from Liz Devine, Josie Knudson, and the doubles team of Devine and Knudson. Knudson was the team leader in wins on the season.
Soccer
The Cyclones finished two matches above .500 at 10-8. Six of their wins were in shutout fashion. Their highest offensive output came in a 9-0 win over Missouri Valley. Raegen Wicks led the team with 16 goals and Kaia Bieker had 10 goals. Lexi Musich posted 103 saves. Anna Shelton was the assists leader with five.
Track
Eight events qualified for the state track meet including five relays. The Cyclones scored 97 points at the Hawkeye Ten Conference Meet to place 3rd. They won one event at the conference meet and that was the 4X200 with Savanna Musich, Delaney Wagner, Grace Eckermann, and Abby Alberti.

2019 Summer Sports
Softball
Lone senior Morgan Schaben delivered a record setting and all-state campaign. Schaben ended her career with 41 doubles, 12 home runs, 115 RBI, 804 strikeouts, and 58 wins in the circle. The Cyclones finished 28-8 and were Hawkeye Ten Conference champs.

2019 Fall Sports
Volleyball
Zophi Hendricks, Haley Manz, and Ashley Hall all posted big seasons for a team that posted a 12-27 record. Hendricks emerged as one of the top sophomores in the area by leading the team in kills while being 3rd in both digs and aces, Manz was in the top 20 in Class 4A in assists, and Hall was 2nd in the Hawkeye Ten Conference in both digs and digs per set. One of Harlan’s more notable wins came against Kuemper Catholic and Sidney. Sidney earned a state title in Class 1A and the eventual Class 3A runner-up was Kuemper Catholic.

Cross Country
It was a very successful campaign for coach Doug Renkly’s squad. After a disappointing finish at state in 2018, they left Fort Dodge with a much better feeling this time around. They placed 4th as a team led by Lucy Borkowski’s 19th place run. Abby Alberti and Kaia Bieker were each in the top 50. Liv Freund, Abi Albertson, Brecken Van Baale, and Olivia Anderson rounded out the varsity team. Harlan won the state qualifying meet in Atlantic with 56 points. Borkowski and Bieker went 2-3 at the Hawkeye Ten Conference meet as the Cyclones won the league title by 30 points over Glenwood.
2019-20 Winter Sports
Bowling
Harlan made the state tournament where they came away with a 6th place finish. Madison Horn’s 343 led the way at state and was good enough for 17th individually. Abby Swank was 26th at state.

Basketball
It was an up and down season that saw win streaks of four and six games, but also a seven game losing streak. Ultimately they posted a record of 13-10. Nine of their ten losses were to rated opponents and three of the setbacks were by fewer than four points. The team didn’t have a single senior.
