(Harlan, IA) — #11 Kuemper Catholic comes into Harlan for a Hawkeye Ten Volleyball match tonight; coverage on KSOM.
The Cyclones last played a week ago beating Creston 3-0 and losing to Glenwood 3-0 but Head Coach Amber Brown says her team is really improving in the serve receive department which she says is the most vital part of the game
Senior Aubree Wegner leads Harlan in kills with 133 while Senior Kenzley Bruck is 2nd with 101. Brown says they are both doing a good job of taking the ball and putting them where the defense is not
Wegner also has 131 digs, Senior Avery Manz leads with 138 digs and Junior Valien Vaughan has 136 Digs.
Kuemper Catholic, meanwhile, is tied with Clarinda for first place in the Hawkeye Ten at 6-0 and the two teams play Thursday. The Knights are led by Junior Mariah Heuton with 211 kills, 45 blocks and 23 aces plus Junior Kolbi Peter with 175 kills and Senior Addy Anthofer with 151 kills, 128 digs and 34 blocks. Brown says they are a fundamentally sound team and the Cyclones will have to focus on two areas
#11 Kuemper Catholic is 22-6; Harlan is 9-19; first serve is at 7:15 tonight; coverage on 96.5 FM KSOM and Western Iowa Today TV
