(Auburn, AL) — With children back in school now, health officials say it’s the start of respiratory virus season.
Amy Pridemore at Auburn University’s College of Nursing says not every sniffle means you need to head to the doctors. She first recommends taking a home flu and COVID-19 test if your child feels ill. If you test positive, head into the doctors.
Pridemore recommends the flu vaccine.
To lower the chances of your child getting sick, Pridemore recommends frequent hand washing, avoid sharing drinks and disinfecting high touch surfaces often.
