(Adair County) The Adair County Auditor’s Office has released information on candidates for county offices following the primary election, along with appointments and nominations for vacant offices.
For the Adair County Board of Supervisors, Jodie Hoadley is the Republican candidate for District 2 Northeast, while Nathan Baier is the Republican candidate for District 4 Southeast. There are no Democratic candidates for either district.
Brenda L. Wallace is the Republican candidate for County Treasurer, and Kelly Mitchell is the Republican candidate for County Recorder. There are no Democratic candidates for either office.
The County Attorney’s race had originally included Democrat Melissa Larson, but she withdrew from the election on July 30. The office became vacant on August 14.
Vacancies occurring after the primary election are nominated by party convention. The last date to file was August 26.
The County Auditor position became vacant following a resignation on June 5, 2026. Ruthie Smith was nominated by the Republican Party, while there is no Democratic nominee.
The County Attorney position became vacant following a resignation on August 14. Ryan Benn was nominated by the Republican Party, while Michael D. Maynes was nominated by the Democratic Party.
Several non-partisan township offices also have candidates. In Richland Township, Evelyn Hopf is a candidate for Clerk, while Steven Lilly and Roger Tanner are candidates for two Trustee positions.
In Washington Township, Diane McCall is a candidate for Clerk, while Carl Ford and Brett Thompson are candidates for two Trustee positions. Chris Stuva is a candidate for a trustee position that is to be filled by vacancy.
Candidates have also filed for several county boards.
For the Hospital Board, candidates for four trustee positions are Bo Geidel, Clark Dolch, Mark Schildberg, Connie Hohertz and Jodi Bassett.
Candidates for five Ag Extension Council positions are Beth Davenport, Lisa Carstens, Matt Rohrig, Laura Nosbisch and Greg Lilly. Sondra Baudler is a candidate for a position to be filled.
For the Soil and Water Conservation District, Steve Baudler and Phil Kading are candidates for two commissioner positions, while Roger Jensen is a candidate for a commissioner position to fill a vacancy.
