(Clarinda) A Clarinda man was arrested Monday on two felony charges after assaulting law enforcement officers during separate incidents last week.
Officers from the Clarinda Police Department and the Page County Sheriff’s Department arrested 28-year-old Shawn Robert Beason on two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer resulting in bodily injury. Beason was arrested on a warrant issued by the Page County Magistrate Court. The assaults occurred on August 19th and 20th in Clarinda. A Clarinda police officer sustained minor injuries during the assault. The injuries did not require medical treatment, and the officer was able to remain on duty. Beason is being held at the Page County Jail on $10,000 bail.
Reports have been forwarded to the Page County Attorney’s Office for the determination regarding the filing of formal charges.
As with all criminal cases, the charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
