(Fremont Co) A Sidney woman is facing multiple drug charges following a traffic stop and subsequent search of her residence.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy conducted a traffic stop on August 18 in the 1700 block of Highway 275. The vehicle was being driven by 48-year-old Keri Lynn Beran of Sidney.
During the traffic stop, a deputy with the Fremont County K9 Unit arrived and deployed K9 Storm. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Storm indicated the odor of narcotics was present in the vehicle.
A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 8.5 grams of methamphetamine.
Following the traffic stop, authorities obtained and executed a search warrant at Beran’s residence in Sidney. The search resulted in the seizure of additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Beran was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a Class B felony; failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a Class D felony; keeping a premise for a controlled substance, an aggravated misdemeanor; keeping a vehicle for a controlled substance, an aggravated misdemeanor; first-offense possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
Beran is being held in the Fremont County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
