(Guthrie Center, IA) — One of the best volleyball players in the area is AC/GC Senior Hitter Stella Largent and she leads her team into a new season this fall. The Chargers went 24-12 behind Largent’s 514 kills which ranked 4th in the entire state. Head Coach Caley Vaughn says she is over 1,000 kills for her career and is ready to smash it this year
Vaughn says the biggest priority for the Chargers during pre-season is find a setter to replace Becca Littler who had 764 assists a year ago. Sophomore Kailee Kautzky is the leading candidate to tak on that roll. Vaughn says there are others to help out on the offensive side
Senior Ilana (Eye-lee-na) Baumert will be back at Libero after getting 284 digs last year and she is part of a big senior class for the Chargers
AC/GC opens their volleyball season on Tuesday, August 25 with a triangular at Martensdale St. Mary’s with Earlham.
