South Dakota Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Sioux County

(Sioux Co.) A South Dakota man was injured in a two-vehicle collision in Sioux County this (Wednesday) morning.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 9:30 a.m. on L30. A 2023 Dodge truck, driven by 58-year-old Dustin Schouten of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was southbound. A 2024 Peterbilt semi, driven by 46-year-old Jesse Van Diepen of Boyden, Iowa, was northbound. The Dodge truck crossed the centerline at the crest of a hill, hitting the semi nearly head on.

Schouten was flown to Sioux Falls with serious injuries.
