(Manning/Creston) The City of Manning was recognized at the 2026 Iowa Character Awards for its commitment to building a community centered on character and service.
Manning received a Community of Character Honorable Mention at the awards ceremony presented by the Robert D. and Billie Ray Center. Representing Manning at the event were Library Director Linda Muhlbauer and City Administrator Dawn Meyer.
The Iowa Character Awards recognize Iowans who model integrity, leadership, responsibility and service in their communities.
Manning was recognized alongside individuals and communities across Iowa for demonstrating those qualities and working to make a positive difference.
Also recognized at the 2026 Iowa Character Awards was Creston High School junior Dylan Dornack, who received the Aaron Eilerts Community Service Award.
Dornack was recognized for his leadership, service and commitment to helping others. He is an Eagle Scout and serves as Iowa FBLA State President. Through those roles, he has led projects supporting his community and volunteered both locally and nationally.
Dornack was recognized for consistently demonstrating what it means to lead through service.
