(Greenfield, IA) — Emma Boswell of Nodaway Valley softball was named Third Team All State by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association this week. For the season, the Senior hit .500, 8 HR, and 31 RBI plus also 11 doubles, 3 triples and scored 41 runs. Boswell had earned 2nd All State her Sophomore season but she admits last year her stats fell a bit which motivated her for this summer
Boswell’s first two softball seasons were with Orient Macksburg but when the school dissolved, she went to Nodaway Valley starting last summer and she says it turned out really well
She developed a close friendship with fellow Senior Izzy Eisbach. They were both exciting on the basketball court — as Eisbach set records in points, Boswell set the Iowa Girls State All Time record for rebounds. That continued into track season in the spring
Boswell says her favorite memory of the season was getting a hole in one on a home run
Boswell will be going to Southwestern Community College in Creston to play softball and study elementary education.
