(Reinbeck, IA) — Riverside Baseball, Cross Country and Boys Track Head Coach Alex Oliver is riding in RAGBRAI this week and stopped to talk with KSOM/KS 95 yesterday on the way to Independence. Oliver says he is getting close to 20 years in RAGBRAI — his Mom and Dad rode in the event a bunch of years and they took him along and it stuck. He says he does it for fun
Oliver says he was not having much fun on Sunday and Monday with the heat and humidity so high but it has been pleasant ever since and he says people come together on the ride
Oliver competes on a team of about 20 that was originally out of Anita but their bus is now out of Kearney, NE — they are families, coaching friends, college friends — they started the week with 20 people riding but will end the week with 10. Oliver says he sees some weird stuff like people riding in cow outfits
RAGBRAI will be heading towards Dyersville today and will finish up in Dubuque tomorrow.
