(Washington D.C.) — Iowa Congressman Zach Nunn is back in Washington D.C. today as the US House will be back in session for the end of the month. There is a lot of work to do in a short amount of time says Nunn. Speaker Mike Johnson has said that a reconciliation package needs to be worked on and Nunn says such a package would include a few things but the first thing would have to a resupply of the national defense
Nunn says the bill should also include lower costs in several areas for Iowans
In other issues, Nunn wants to continue to pursue not allowing members of Congress to trade on the stock market and Nunn wants to move forward on a bill he co-introduced called the No Cashing In Act. Its goal is aims to reduce or eliminate taxpayer-funded pensions for former members of Congress who cash in as lobbyists
Nunn expects the No Cashing Act to get bipartisan support. Nunn is also going to pursue the Guard Act which fights fraud and scams against Iowans and the American people.
