(Des Moines) The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for western Iowa until 3:00 a.m. on Monday. The counties included in the watch area are Adams, Audubon, Carroll, Cass, Crawford, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, Sac, Shelby, and Taylor.
According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are possible overnight, and if they develop, a few could become severe, bringing gusty winds, hail, and locally heavy rainfall. Additional thunderstorm chances are possible later in the day on Monday, and if they form, a few could become severe, with gusty winds and hail as the main threats.
