(Greenfield, IA) — The Nodaway Valley softball team will open their season today — the Wolverines won 3 of their first 4 games last season but in the heart of the Pride of Iowa schedule, lost 11 straight games and finished 5-13. In the circle, Ella Boswell threw every single inning but one last year and the ERA was at 8.05. Co Head Coach Ryan Zenor says she will have some help this year and Nodaway Valley will go with a by committee approach
With the bats, the Wolverines have six seniors so there is some experience led by Emma Boswell who hit .395, 4 HR and 14 RBI
Eisbach hit .333 for the Wolverines, Stonebraker .295, Sophomore Taylor Laughery is another big bat who hit .302. Zenor wants his team to be aggressive
Nodaway Valley will host Southwest Valley in their opener tonight.
