(Lincoln, NE) — Fred Hoiberg continues to try and complete his 2026 roster as big man Damon Wilkinson has announced on social media to transfer from South Dakota St. to the Huskers.
Wilkinson is a 6’10” Center from De Smet, South Dakota who averaged 13.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last season for the Jackrabbits. He might be a rarity for the Cornhuskers in that he has only attempted one three pointer in his two college career. Last year he started 19 games at SD St. and peaked late in the season scoring in double figures in the final 8 games and was named Honorable Mention All Summit League. He has two seasons of eligibility remaing.
Wilkinson gives Nebraska another option in the middle along with transfer Boden Kapke from Boston College. Hoiberg has added six players in the portal with Sam Orme, Kadyn Betts, Trevan Leonhardt, and Taj DeGourville. Returning players include Pryce Sandfort, Braden Frager, Connor Essegian, Leo Curtis, Will Cooper, Henry Burt and Cale Jacobsen. There are two incoming freshmen — Collin Rice and Jacob Lanier — which could complete the Husker roster at 15 players.
