(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors received an update on the Orient Energy Center construction project during their meeting this morning.
John Huff, with MidAmerican Energy, said construction will be starting soon, and logistics plans will be provided to the county’s engineering team in the near future.
Huff also provided an update on the replacement wind turbines that were destroyed during the Greenfield tornado.
Huff said they are hoping to have the towers erected by late July to mid-August, with conditioning completed by the end of August, followed by restoration work.
In other business, the Supervisors approved signing the FY27 ISAC Insurance renewal documents and approved a resolution setting the speed limit at 35 miles per hour on both Adair-Union Street and Orange Avenue. The board also discussed an ordinance regulating data centers within the county moratorium on the development and operation of data centers and high-density computing facilities.
