(Audubon, IA) — Audubon boys basketball tried to weather the storm of a difficult schedule — the Wheelers finished a solid 15-10 which is their first winning season in seven years and yet 8 of their 10 losses came against teams ranked in the top ten in either Class 1A or 2A. There is a lot leaving this team with eight seniors going on — starters Brody Schultes (11.2 ppg), Carson Wessel (9.0 ppg), Brody Weber (4.6 ppg, 5.7 rbg) and Austin Christensen (10.7 ppg, 9.3 rbg) plus Sullivan McClain, Ryan Hermansen, Orm Voight and Walter Vetter. Head Coach Darran Miller says its a big crew to replace
Audubon will have a completely new look next season — not as much size, more guards and younger with only one junior that was on the roster this year so Miller knows there is a lot to do before they tip it off next December
Sophomores Aiden Kjergaard (10.6 ppg) and Jorgen Nowatzke (10.2 ppg) will be the leaders next year. The Wheelers only shot 26 percent as a team on their threes so Miller says that has to be an emphasis
Miller will be looking to other players to develop like Sophomores Kye Gleason, Ty Bowlin, Paxton Beane, and Hudson Hocker.
