(Tucson, AZ) — Second ranked Arizona clinched the Big 12 regular season title on Monday night beating #6 Iowa St. 73-57.
The Wildcats closed the first half on a 15-3 run to lead 37-25 at the break. ISU missed their first 8 shots in the 2nd half and Arizona extended their lead to 16. Iowa St. had to deal with shooting woes all night long, only shooting 29 percent from the floor and only 7 of 30 from three point land. Milan Momcilovic was held to just 5 points on 2 of 8 shooting.
Arizona (28-2, 15-2) was led by Jaden Bradley with 17 points, Motejus Krivas had 13, Brayden Burries 11 and Tobe Awaka added 10 off the bench.
Tamin Lipsey led Iowa St. (24-6, 11-6) with 17 points, Joshua Jefferson had 12 points and 8 rebounds and Jamarion Batemon added 14 off the bench.
Iowa St. will get no worse than a 5 seed in the Big 12 tournament — the Cyclones are currently in 5th place and a half game behind Kansas. The Jayhawks still have to play at Arizona St. and host Kansas St. ISU has one game in the regular season left and that is hosting the Sun Devils this Saturday at 1:00 pm, Noon Cyclones Pre Game on KSOM.
