(Harlan, IA) — The Harlan Boys Wrestling will be facing a lot of familiar foes in the 2A Districts this Saturday. It will almost be a Hawkeye Ten Conference tournament in Glenwood with Atlantic, Clarinda, Creston, Red Oak, and Shenandoah all in the district with Winterset joining the field as well. The Cyclones will be without 157 pounder Brody Bendorf who had surgery yesterday on his left hip and his future wrestling career might be in jeopardy. His Dad and Head Coach Adam Bendorf is still optimistic about Harlan’s prospects including two freshmen
Chayton Snethen has been Harlan’s most consistent performer this year — the Junior is 37-4 who lost to the Trojans Jayden Harter twice this season. Bendorf believes Snethen has a chance to come out on top this Saturday
Jaden Stephens is 28-11 at 190 pounds but is making the move down to 175 for districts
Others to watch for Harlan include Nathan Sandquist who is 20-16 at 138 pounds; Coy Obrecht who is 25-22 at 144; and Jaspyr Nielsen who is 18-15 at 285.
We will have coverage of the 2A Districts from Glenwood on KS 95.7 FM.
