(Des Moines) The Iowa Federation of Labor is now officially endorsing State Auditor Rob Sand in the race for governor. Union leaders announced the endorsement on Saturday. The race started heating up earlier this year when Republican Governor Kim Reynolds announced she would not seek reelection in 2026. Sand will face business development leader Julie Stauch and frequent Iowa political candidate Paul Dahl in the Democratic Primary. Republicans who have entered the race include Congressman Randy Feenstra, State Representative Eddie Andrews, and former State Representative Brad Sherman.
